Description
Originally, this design idea was planned as a large shawl, worked as a square, folded in half
and worn as a triangle. I thought this could also work in a smaller version, like a bandana. This piece is very easy to make and wear; a goal of all September Knits patterns. The stitch pattern gives enough interest to keep going, but also repetitive enough to do while watching a show or listening to an audio book. This bandana version is worn folded in half (as a triangle) and easily tried in the back of the neck to secure. The two-color brioche and garter stitch makes for a reversible fabric.
Birch Creek Bandana is knit from the bottom up beginning with an I-Cord Cast-On. There are two options given for this I-Cord Cast-On. The sample used the ‘Provisional Cast-On Using a Crochet Hook Method Set-up Option’. This bandana is worked back and forth utilizing soothing garter stitch and fun two-color brioche. Slip all slipped stitches purl wise. The shape of this accessory is a square. To wear this bandana, you will fold it in half on the diagonal to then tie around your neck. This accessory is worn like a bandana. An I-Cord edging is worked throughout so all sides of this bandana has an I-Cord finish.
